Bob Chapman began working in his father’s construction business, learning to build homes, during his early high school years. In 1977, Bob graduated from high school and continued accruing excellent experience in his early years of employment. In 1979, Bob moved to Ft Myers, Florida and was hired by a busy construction company as a crew leader, advancing to a Superintendents’ position before starting his own company. Having family in the Mobile area, Bob decided to move to Mobile in 2001 and started Boulder Construction Company in March, 2003, providing a wide range of services including Custom Homes, Additions, Remodeling, Custom Carpentry, Framing and All Types of Home Repairs.
Bob learned organizational skills at a young age and believes that effective organization can increase job production, reduce waste, increase safety, and most importantly to his customer: increase cost savings while constructing a premium product.
Bob says: “Our Attention to Detail Sets us Apart from our Competition.”
Bob’s onsite management skills allow subcontractors to be more competitive on his jobs. Bob is a firm believer that ‘Proper Time Management & Detailed Procedures Reduce Construction Time - Which, in turn, Reduces Overall Cost‘.
Bob and his employees have Hands-On Experience in everything from Clearing Building Sites, to Surveying the Building Location on the Site, Excavating Foundations, Constructing the Structural Envelope of Concrete, and Constructing Wood & Steel Buildings with any given load criteria.
Having specialized in custom carpentry for many years, Bob and his team have become experts at achieving accurate finish products without negative issues of electrical, plumbing, etc., popping up. Bob works hard to iron out these details with clients, being sure to suggest lifestyle needs over and above Standard Codes of Construction Practice.
Bob continues the family ‘Construction Business Tradition’ by employing his two sons, Ben and Bobby. Both sons worked with and learned from Bob during their high school years, and have now become full time employees since graduation, making them the third generation of Home Construction Managers.
"Bob Chapman has worked for me on several different occasions for a variety of projects. He and his folks at Boulder Construction are very conscientious, timely and extremely talented. I have been involved in a number of restoration and renovation projects at historic properties over the years and have worked with a number of contractors in the past. None of those contractors have demonstrated Bob Chapman’s level of expertise or his ability to work with regulatory officials, other subcontractors and property owners – all often at the same time. I am grateful to have discovered Boulder Construction and would highly recommend them to others – as long as it doesn’t interfere with the work I want them to do!"
“We are very pleased with the roof removal and replacement performed by Mr. Bob Chapman and his crew.
Their work ethic was very professional. We would certainly recommend their services to others.”
Angela Hill stated: "It is nice to know what is going on during the construction process and what to expect the next day, so that plans can be made accordingly for the family's needs."
